This invention relates to the use of a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) and/or its analog, derivative, isomer, metabolite, pharmaceutically acceptable salt, pharmaceutical product, hydrate, N-oxide, or any combination thereof for treating androgen-deprivation induced hot flashes, decreased lean muscle mass, loss of libido, or erectile dysfunction in a male subject having prostate cancer.
