PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a residue system arithmetic system which makes compatible and realizes the high speed operation of an addition/subtraction/multiplication by a residue system and the high speed operation of a scaling arithmetic operation.;SOLUTION: In a residue system to express numerics in a first residue format constituted of the combination of a residue value by a first modulus and a residue value by a second modulus, a scaling arithmetic unit is configured to calculate a quotient in the first residue format by dividing an input value in the first residue format by the second modulus. This scaling arithmetic unit consists of a subtractor which outputs an inter-modulus difference value being the difference value of the residue value by the first modulus of the input value and the residue value by the second modulus of the input value, and of a quotient outputting part which outputs the combination of the residue value by the first modulus of the quotient and the residue value by the second modulus of the quotient as a quotient on the basis of the inter-modulus difference value.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
