PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interface system for maintenance manuals for enabling an unexperienced maintenance engineer to reliably and quickly perform the maintenance of machinery. PSOLUTION: A non-volatile storing means 5 stores: an integral control chart constituted of an integral plane control chart and an integral solid control chart; a plane detail chart and a solid detail chart showing the details of the individual parts of the control chart; detail information associated with the plane detail chart and the solid detail chart; and manual information associated with the plane detail chart and the solid detail chart. Manual information is hierarchically retrieved from the integral control chart through the detail chart so that the trouble of a retrieving operation in the conventional paper manual can be prevented.
