PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent coal ash from adhering by predicting and evaluating the adhesion of ash, even if poor-quality coal is used.;SOLUTION: Coal supplied to a coal burning boiler is ashed, in advance, to obtain coal ash, the coal ash is sintered at a plurality of temperatures in a sintering temperature range of the boiler, to obtain sintered ash at each heating temperature; the degree of cementation of each obtained sintered ash is measured; and the adhesion of ash to a heat transfer pipe in an actual boiler is predicted and evaluated from the degree of cementation of the measured ash.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
