METHOD FOR DISCRIMINATING BLOOD FLOW COMPONENT IN ULTRASONIC DIAGNOSTIC APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems associated with prior ultrasonic diagnostic apparatuses that occur when blood flow using ultrasonic waves is observed, such difficulties in judging the condition of the blood flow that arise because only a blood flow component and a clutter component are discriminated but a white noise component is not discriminated in the prior apparatuses.;SOLUTION: An ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus comprising an autocorrelation processing circuit 25 and a blood flow discriminating circuit 26 is provided. The autocorrelation processing circuit calculates the speed and the amplitude of the blood flow using an autocorrelation method on the basis of ultrasonic echo signals obtained by transmitting and receiving ultrasonic waves to and from a subject. Threshold values that designate the white noise component and the clutter component are set according to the obtained blood flow amplitude, and the blood flow discriminating circuit 26 discriminates only the blood flow component on the basis of the threshold values. The apparatus uses a method for discriminating a blood flow component that detects the flow rate of only the blood flow component that was discriminated by the blood flow discriminating circuit 26.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
