METHOD FOR REINFORCING WOODEN MEMBER, AND REINFORCED WOODEN MEMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reinforcing a wooden member capable of applying even to a fabricated wooden member or to reinforce an existing wooden member with a relatively simple constitution.;SOLUTION: This method for reinforcing a wooden member (1) extending in one direction comprises the steps of forming grooves (5) on the side faces (1a, 1b) of the wooden member extending in the longitudinal direction of the wooden member, embedding at least a part of a fiber-reinforced plastic member (6) so as to extend in the longitudinal direction in the groove, and filling an adhesive between the fiber-reinforced plastic member and the wooden member. The fiber-reinforced plastic member has e.g. a pair of L-shaped members (6a, 6b) with L-shaped cross section. A side of the one L-shaped member is abutted to a side of the other L-shaped member so as to form a T-shaped state, and the abutted side is embedded in the groove.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
