PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document update notification device capable of generating a difference, and not losing an index for deciding whether an updated document is a document deserving reading or not, when intending to notify that a new document is produced or deleted, that whereabouts of a document changes, or the like. PSOLUTION: This document update notification device has: a difference generation means generating the difference of the document; a summary production means producing a summary of the document; and a notification content production means producing notification contents on the basis of at least one of the difference generated by the difference generation means and the summary produced by the summary production means.
