PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a speaking period required for voice recognition processing with a simple and robust approach.;SOLUTION: The speaking period is detected based on a myoelectric signal generated when a speaker speaks. A large amplitude is observed in the myoelectric signal as muscular activity is caused when the speaker speaks. By observing this, the speaking period can be detected. The myoelectric signal can be measured from the speaker's skin via electrodes disposed on a mobile-type terminal.
