PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply regenerate an intensity waveform and a chirp characteristic of short light pulses without using a complicate measuring system. ;SOLUTION: An intensity self correlation waveform of a short light pulse to be measured is measured by an auto collimator and Fourier transformed, thereby obtaining an intensity power spectrum |I(ω)|2. At the same time, an electric field power spectrum |E(ω)|2 is obtained with the use of a light spectrum analyzer. A phase ϕ(t) accompanying an electric field waveform e(t) in a time area is supposed and changed a little by a little.
