PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tooth material color tone selection supporting program and method for supporting the selection of the tooth material of a suitable color tone corresponding to the color tone of a tooth etc., of a tooth prosthetic appliance intended to produce.;SOLUTION: A data table where identification information data of a plurality of tooth reference colors and and color tone information data of L*a*b* color system of the tooth reference color corresponding to each other is previously stored in a computer. Picture data obtained by simultaneously photographing the tooth or an adjacent tooth and a reference tool having the color tone of the tooth reference color is inputted. A color tone correction value for nearly coinciding the color tone information data of the L*a*b* color system of the tooth reference color of the reference tool analyzed within the picture data with the color tone information data of the tooth reference color in the data table coincident with the identification information data of the tooth reference color is calculated to correct the color tone of the tooth or the adjacent tooth. The identification information data of the tooth reference color of color tone information data coincident with or similar to the color tone information data of the color tone of a corrected tooth or adjacent tooth is extracted from the data table and outputted.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
