PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a totally-enclosed self-cooled motor for driving a vehicle in which the size and weight can be reduced and labor for maintenance can be saved through enhancement of cooling performance.;SOLUTION: The cooler for a totally-enclosed self-cooled motor for driving a vehicle comprises connection air ducts 21 disposed on the outside of openings at the opposite ends of a stator frame 1, tubular cooling air ducts 25 and 26 each having a flat surface interposed between the connection air ducts 21, a gap ventilation passage 27 formed between the flat surfaces of the cooling air ducts 25 and 26 facing each other, a plurality of heat absorbing fins 28 provided on the inner circumferential wall of the cooling air ducts 25 and 26, and a plurality of radiation fins 29 provided on the outer circumferential wall of the cooling air ducts 25 and 26 wherein the inner space of each connection air duct 21 has one end communicating with the space in the motor through the opening of the stator frame 1, and the other end communicating with the inner space of the cooling air ducts 25 and 26.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
