PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-sensitivity selenium-arsenic based electrophotographic photoreceptor capable of obtaining excellent printing density for a laser beam printer, and its producing method. ;SOLUTION: In a stage where atmospheric pressure is obtained by breaking a vacuum in a vacuum-depositing tank after a photoreceptor layer is film-formed by vacuum-depositing selenium-arsenic based alloy on the surface of a conductive base substance in high vacuum in the vacuum-depositing tank; inert gas is leaked into the vapor-depositing tank first so as to make the vacuum low to some extent, and continuously, air is leaked to obtain the atmospheric pressure. Thereafter, by performing aging to the photoreceptor taken out from the tank, that is, leaving it in bright and dark environment, the photoreceptor in which the oxidation degree of As in the surface of the photoreceptor layer is within the range of 30% to 35% and which is excellent in the printing density is obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
