PURPOSE: To smoothly operate communication by performing automatic communication by finding an address value by retrieving any arbitrary data base when the required address can not be provided from the data base by the designation of a key value. ;CONSTITUTION: When the icon of (retrieval/call) is inputted, a user is urged to input the key value of the opposite side and the data of addition/change for the arbitrary key value are received. Then, a message is displayed and call origination for calling an external data base 200 is performed. Further, the character string of the key value is transmitted from information terminal equipment 100 to the data base 200 as a retrieval key and the data of the retrieved result at the data base 200 are returned to the equipment 100. When the data are received, a line connected to the data base 200 is disconnected and the call origination to those data is performed by a dialer device. When the line is connected, a message showing such a state is displayed. Finally, when the line is disconnected, the key value inputted by the user and the address value retrieved by the data base 200 are registered on the data base of a RAM.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
