PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high precisions of speed control and tension control by decreasing the load on speed controller and a tension controller by grasping the amount of mechanical loss precisely and performing compensation control using it, and increasing the gains of the speed controller and the tension controller. SOLUTION: In a single drive system or a continuous manufacturing line drive system, the no-load loss in driving motor 8 is computed by operation from the main circuit voltage, main-circuit current, and an actual revolving speed on the occasion of no-load of the driving motor 8. Besides load losses of the driving motor 8 are computed momently, and the amounts of mechanical loss compensation are found from the no-load loss and these loaded losses.
