PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic capacitor for a fluorescent lamp ballast, prominent in resistance to heat and miniaturized while being small in a loss in high-frequency, and hardly generating heat.;SOLUTION: The ceramic capacitor for the fluorescent lamp ballast 2 is provided with a ceramic main body 3 consisting of barium titanate base ceramics and a plurality of external electrodes 4, 5 formed on the outer surface of the ceramic main body 3. The ceramic capacitor for the fluorescent lamp ballast 2 indicates that the tanδ (1KHz) of the barium titanate base ceramics is not higher than 0.30% and the relative permittivity ε of the same ceramics is within 200-700.
