Use of atazanavir in HIV therapy

摘要

A method for reducing elevated plasma LDL and/or triglyceride levels in an HIV-infected patient is disclosed. In this method, atazanavir (BMS-232632) can be used to treat HIV infection in patients exhibiting elevated plasma LDL-cholesterol and/or triglyceride levels, can be substituted for an offending HIV protease inhibitor used in such therapy, or can be used in combination with an HIV protease inhibitor metabolized by cytochrome P450 monooxygenase.
