PURPOSE: To simplify the setting of setup information for a server and a client, to eliminate error of setup information or trouble of operations and to facilitate work in the case of introducing or adding a new client concerning a setup information delivery method for setup information to the client to be connected to a network. ;CONSTITUTION: A client 3 to be connected through the network is provided with simplified setup information, a server 1 to perform communication mutually with the client 3 through the network is provided with standard setup information and at the initial connection, the client 3 originates a call to the server 1, based on the simplified setup information. Corresponding to the connection with the server 1, the server 1 down-loads and registers the standard setup information for the client 3 through the network to the client 3 and, regarding the communication after the next time, the client 3 mutually communicates with the server 1 through the network according to the standard setup information.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
