PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power being consumed unnecessarily and to set an appropriate current level without requiring a detecting means on the stepping motor side.;SOLUTION: When a stepping motor M is driven by a drive circuit section 110 on the basis of a drive signal from a control section 150, output voltage waveform information of the drive circuit section 110 is detected at a voltage detecting section 120, and subjected to A/D conversion at an A/D converter section 130 before being outputted to a current sequence setting section 140. The voltage waveform information input to the current sequence setting section 140 calculates a current set signal based on the voltage waveform information and the torque load characteristics of the stepping motor M input from the A/D converter section 130 by an operating section 141 and a temporary storage section 142, and then the stepping motor M is driven based on the current set signal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
