PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To introduce the rules of exclusive control over a data base system which area based upon the concept of the alternation of an exclusive object, to reduce object of exclusive control, and to reduce the overhead of the exclusive control. SOLUTION: The exclusive control part of a data base management system performs exclusive control by using an exclusive control management table. If the alternation of exclusive control over an object 111b with an object 111a is specified, the exclusive resource ID of the object 111a is registered in a record of the exclusive control management table when the object 111b is commonly locked to alternate the locking of plural exclusive objects with the locking of one representative exclusive object.
