PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a lead zirconate titanate powder excellent in low-temperature sinterability, which utilizes solid-phase reaction and does not require the use of a special raw material, production of a complex precursor or a high-level grinding treatment.;SOLUTION: The lead zirconate titanate powder excellent in low-temperature sinterability essentially comprises a composition of the formula: Pb(Zrx-Ti1-x)O3 (wherein X is 0.1-0.9). The powder is produced by using fine zirconium hydroxide and zirconium oxide with specific surface area diameters of ≤20 nm and fine titanium oxide with a specific surface area diameter of ≤70 nm as starting materials, mixing them so that the combination of their physical properties provides a value A calculated from the formula: A=((diameter (nm) of zirconium hydroxide and/or zirconium oxide)/(diameter (nm) of titanium oxide))×100 within the range of 6-55 and calcining the mixture.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
