PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shield excavator having a relatively simple structure and a low manufacturing cost and provide an underground connecting method for skin plates capable of reliably stopping water. ;SOLUTION: A reception side shield excavator 1 provided with a connecting device 14 on the skin plate 13 and an intrusion side shield excavator 30 connecting a skin plate 40 to the connecting device 14 are used. A tunnel is excavated to the connection position by the reception side shield excavator 1 and the intrusion side shield excavator 30. The over-cutter 7 of the reception side shield excavator 1 is shrunk, and a solidifying agent is filled in the space with the natural ground while an inner barrel section 4 is pulled backward. The over-cutter 35 of the intrusion side shield excavator 30 is shrunk, and the skin plate 40 of the intrusion side shield excavator 30 is connected to the connecting device 14 while the solidifying agent is excavated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
