PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mercury inclusion body with which a required minimum amount of mercury is sealed exactly in a glass bulb, a fluorescent substance film is prevented from being scratched during transportation, generation of an abnormal noise is inhibited, and further degradation of an appearance quality is prevented, and also to provide its manufacturing method and a fluorescent lamp using the mercury inclusion body.;SOLUTION: After mercury is dipped in a solution of a metal alkoxide, the mercury to which the solution of the metal alkoxide is attached is heat- treated. By this treatment, the surface of the liquid mercury is coated by a continuous film consisting of a metal oxide or a compound metal oxide. As a result, since the required minimum amount of mercury is accurately sealed in the fluorescent lamp, the treatment is friendly to the environment, the fluorescent substance film is prevented from being scratched during transportation, the generation of the abnormal noise is inhibited, and further the degradation of the appearance quality is prevented.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
