PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mortar excellent in adhesivity to a SiC shelf board, useful for correcting the warpage of the shelf board and bonding the shelf board to a strut for assembling shelves, comprising a fixed amount of mullite particles having a specific particle size constitution in a mullite mortar. SOLUTION: This mullite mortar comprises =70wt.%, preferably =85wt.% based on the total of mullite particles composed of =50wt.%, preferably =70wt.% coarse particles having 100-500μm particle diameters. Preferably the mullite mortar contains further =10wt.%, especially 3-7wt.% based on the whole of a sintering auxiliary (e.g. clay or silica sol). The mullite mortar contains =1wt.%, preferably about 0.001-0.5wt.% based on the total of components (e.g. an oxide such as Cr2 O3 , A12 O3 , Fe2 O3 , etc., a sulfide or a carbonate) contributing to the coloring of a tile.
