PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor capable of storing the efficiently extracted coordinate positions of elements in an element coordinate storage memory, while having an image recognition function constructed as hardware.;SOLUTION: The image processor has the image recognition function for extracting predetermined elements from an input document image and extracting a predetermined pattern constructed of the plurality of elements extracted to determine whether or not the input document image is a predetermined document image based on the pattern extracted. An image input part 1 divides the input document image into rectangular areas. For each of the rectangular areas, data on the number of elements extracted and data on the coordinates of the extracted elements are registered in first to fourth coordinate storage memories 5-8.
