PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gate method of an electron multipler by which a gate noise is reduced and which is excellent in the multiplication factor ratio and by which high speed gating operation can be performed, and a bleeder circuit having a gate function. ;SOLUTION: Electric potential divided by a resistor row comprising resistors R2, R3, R5, R7, R9, R11, R12, R13 and R14, is usually applied on dynodes DY1 to DY10 of a photomultiler 10, respectively, and they are put in a gate off-state. When a pulse of a gate signal is inputted, a negative electrode gate voltage pulse generated at a connecting point P1 is superimposed on respective electric potentials of the dynodes DY2, DY4 and DY6 through a capacitor, and a positive electrode gate voltage pulse generated at a connecting point P2 is superimposed on respective electric potentials of the dynodes DY3 and DY5 through the capacitor, and they are put in a gate on-state.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
