PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the metering speed and reduce the labor by judging the weight rank of an article, supplying it to a corresponding discharging conveyor, and discharging it from a discharge conveyor of the weight rank of a prescribed combination. ;SOLUTION: When a worker takes out a bundle of spring onions 4 for an intended weight for one taking from a number of spring onions 4, a rank judging means within a weight 8 judges a weight rank 1-6 to which the weight of this bundle belongs. The bundle of the spring onions 4 is supplied to the discharge conveyor 9 (9-1 9-6) of the lighted rank. When this operation is continued, and bundles of spring onions 4 are supplied to both holding parts 21 of opposed conveyors 9-1 and 9-6 or the like, a detector 22 detects this. The two bundles of spring onions 4 driving both the conveyors 9 are discharged to a collecting conveyor 16 and carried to a packaging machine. The weight of each bundle of spring onions 4 discharged in this way is the total weight of the ranks 1 and 6, 3 and 4 or 2 and 5 forming a predetermined set, and close to each intended weight.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
