This invention offers the method in order to play back the MPEG video presentation which is recorded to memory medium 106 with trick mode. Responding to the command which requires the playback with trick mode of portion of the said MPEG video presentation, the information file 400 regarding the said video presentation is accessed. Information in order to execute the command of the trick mode which is required is searched from information file 400. The information which is searched includes the parameter which identifies, at least the position of one I picture of the playback part of the said video presentation from the information file. In addition, also the picture flag 565 which identifies a certain picture as the non interlace picture or the interlace picture is searched from information file 400. In addition, the parameter 540 in information file 400 defines the number of bytes which are included in GOP in regard to the playback part of the said video presentation. As for the information in information file 400, fast forward or you rewind and you are used in order to make the playback with trick mode easy.
