PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new temperature responsive polymer and temperature responsive gel having biodegradability and enabling easy functionalization. PSOLUTION: The temperature responsive polymer is composed of a repeating unit (A) of formula (1) and a repeating unit (B) of formula (2) each composed of an α/β-asparagine derivative unit having a substituent on nitrogen atom. In the formulas, RSP1/SPis a hydroxyalkyl such as hydroxypentyl; and RSP2/SPis a hydroxyalkyl different from RSP1/SPsuch as hydroxyhexyl, an alkyl or an aryl. The polymer can be produced by mixing a polysuccinimide, RSP1/SPNHSB2/SBand RSP2/SPNHSB2/SBin an organic solvent (the ratio of the amines is 5:95 to 95:5) and, in the case of gelatinizing, crosslinking the mixed product with a polyfunctional compound such as an α ,ω-alkylene diisocyanate.
