PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the welding crack resistance of a can, etc., the corrosion crack resistance and the mechanical strength by using an Al-Mg-Ag base alloy filler material of a specific composition at the time of welding of an Al alloy material. ;SOLUTION: The composition of this filler material contains, by weight, 3 to 6% Mg, 0.3 to 2.0% Ag and the remainder essentially Al. Further, when the occasion demands, it is added with at least more than one kind among ≤0.2% Ti, ≤0.08% B, ≤0.2% Zn, ≤2.0% rare earth element or/and more than one kind among ≤1.5% Mn, ≤0.6% Cr, ≤0.5% Vi, ≤3.0% N, and ≤0.5% Mn. The joint tensile strength with this filler material reaches as high as 350N/mm, however the composition of the filler material is selected suitably according to the kind and the strength of the Al alloy to be welded. In this case, any kind of welding methods of TIG, MIG, an electron beam and a laser beam, etc., may be utilized.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
