PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which slush hydrogen can be continuously produced without using liquid helium or cryogenic helium and to provide an inexpensive compact apparatus therefore. SOLUTION: This apparatus consists of a liquid hydrogen container 1, a cylindrical liquid hydrogen tank 100 provided in the gas region and used for auxiliary cooling and a cylindrical guide 105 provided on the bottom of the tank 100. Further, a cylindrical magnetic substance 102 vertically movable along the external periphery of the tank 100 and guide 105 and a superconductive magnet 107 which gives a magnetic field to the substance 1 are provided. The substance 102 is immersed in the liquid hydrogen in the container 1 to form solid hydrogen in the inside surface. The solid hydrogen is scraped off with an auger 106 and the scraped solid hydrogen forms slush hydrogen in the container 1.
