PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for multidimensional shaking table that can reduce the operating amount to about one-(n)-th as compared with a conventional optimal controller for shaking table. SOLUTION: A first subtractor 8, a distributed optimal controller 1 for shaking table, and a multidimensional shaking table system 3 are arranged sequentially. The distributed optimal controller 1 for shaking table operates a displacement command vector signal 7 to the multidimensional shaking table system 3 from a displacement difference vector signal 6 according to a transfer function having transfer characteristics Kij of diagonal components from i-th input to i-th output but not having the transfer characteristics Kij (i≠j) for other nondiagonal components. A second subtractor 16 determines a shaker displacement difference vector signal 13 which is received by a servo controller 10 producing a shaker displacement command vector signal 14 being delivered to a multidimensional shaking table 9. Operation of the multidimensional shaking table 9 is controlled by a displacement command vector signal 7 from the distributed optimal controller 1 for shaking table.
