PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve high speed gradation printing by a small-scaled circuit by inputting modulation voltage and an enable signal to a driver circuit and supplying modulation voltage of the phase and value corresponding to gradation to an emitting energy generating part. ;SOLUTION: Either one of a predetermined number of the gradation control signals generated in heat pulse generators 15-18 is selected to generate an enable signals in enable signal generation parts 11-14 and modulation voltage changed in synchronous relation to a printing cycle is generated in a power supply circuit 10. These generated modulation voltages and enable signals are inputted to driver circuits 6-9 and the modulation voltage of the phase and value corresponding to gradation is suplied to a plurality of emitting energy generation parts 2-4.
