PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mahjong game system and a mahjong game program which assist the judgement of a player in the formation of tiles in hand, based on the tiles in hand of the player. SOLUTION: The player operates a button which is determined in advance of this mahjong game system by a desired timing during a mahjong game. In response to this action, the mahjong game system detects 'tahtsu' (serial tiles) (a 3-soh (bamboo mark), a 6-pin (round mark), and a chun (red Chinese character)) which are required to constitute a winning combination from the tiles in hand of the player, and replenishes the same tiles to make the 'tahtsu' (serial tiles) into 'kohtsu' (triplet tiles), and 'sanankoh', which is the winning combination, is formed. In addition, tile combinations for members of sections other than the winning combination are formed, and a target combination of tiles 44 in hand is formed. Then, the target combination of tiles 44 in hand is displayed next to the tiles 31 in hand of the player. As a result, even when the player is a beginner, the completed combination of tiles in hand at the time of 'hora' (winning) can be easily imaged.
