PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CPU capable of easily correcting a program by on-line editing and performing edit processing irrespective of an edit object (a function block or not) and the number of objects.;SOLUTION: The CPU 10 is provided for a programmable controller for carrying out operation of a user program stored in a user memory 14. A temporary user memory 19 is provided for storing the same user program as the user program. In carrying out edit processing to the user memory, the user program stored in the temporary user memory is called by an instruction execution engine 16 to be executed.
