PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coastal structure which increases the effect of a reduction in wave energy, dispenses with structural strengthening, and exerts the great effect of the reduction even on a long-period wave.;SOLUTION: This coastal structure 10 is equipped with: a bottom part 2 which serves as a bottom; first and second wall parts 3 and 4 parallel to each other, in which openings 3a and 4a are formed; and a ceiling part 1 which continues into the wall parts 3 and 4. The coastal structure 10 is installed in the sea so that the wall part 3 can be directed toward an offing side and so that the wall part 4 can be directed toward a coastal side. The ceiling part 1 is formed as an inclined plane in which the side of the wall part 3 can be high and so that the side of the wall part 4 can be low.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
