PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a sample body used for oxygen or nitrogen analysis by which a desired sample body can be formed without allowing the oxygen or nitrogen in the air to be mixed in the sample body. SOLUTION: In a method for forming sample body, a sample body used for oxygen or nitrogen analysis is formed by holding a container 1 containing a sample 2 and having an opening 4 covered with a cap body 3 at its top between first and second molds 6 and 7 and pressing the molds 6 and 7 against the container 1 from both sides with pressure. The space formed of the first and second molds 6 and 7 is formed in a closed space 11 interrupted from the outside air and the molds 6 and 7 are pressed against the container 1 in a state where the pressure in the space 11 is reduced by evacuating the space 11.
