PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing image by computer by which a moving object and the background can be exactly identified at high speed at low cost while being exactly adaptive to a changing environment. SOLUTION: In the method for processing image by computer for identifying the moving object and the background on optically acquired animation data, concerning the pixel value of each of pixels composing the frame of the moving object, a difference between the latest frame and the previous frame is found and moving object detecting processing 2 is carried out by an arithmetic means 1 for recognizing a pixel constituting the moving object on the basis of a prescribed threshold from a moving object component value derived from an evaluated value obtained by applying weighting in inverse proportion to the absolute value of the difference between the latest frame and the previous frame to each of pixels composing the latest frame.
