SOLUTION: Porous ceramic industry products are manufactured by using the carbon material-containing sludge discharged from a biological treatment process step for the water to be treated as a ceramic industry raw material. Such porous ceramic industry products have water retaining hygroscopcity, sound absorptivity, thermal insulation properties, etc., and are usable for, for example, thermal insulating materials, sound insulating materials, water retaining blocks, etc.
