PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid glaze capable of easily producing a product analo gous to a salt-glazed roofing tile and other products having high values added.;SOLUTION: The liquid glaze comprising an aqueous solution is prepared by adding 100 kg sodium chloride and 100 kg sodium carbonate to a ball mill and, after further adding 400 l water to the ball mill, mixing and pulverizing all additives. A reddish brown roofing tile having a gloss analogous to a salt- glazed roofing tile is obtained by dipping a roofing tile body, which has been biscuit-fired at 1,000°C, into the liquid glaze for 1 min, then, after taking the roofing tile body out of the liquid glaze, drying and firing it at 1,150°C (maximum temp.) for 3 hr using a normal single kiln used for production.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
