PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric line waveguide converter which can directly be converted into a circular waveguide without enlarging and complicating it, and to provide a dielectric line that can easily be made into multiple layers, a primary radiator of a wide band characteristic, an oscillator that can easily output an oscillation signal with the dielectric line and a transmission device sing them. ;SOLUTION: A dielectric strip 3 is arranged between two parallel conductor faces to constitute a dielectric line. The prescribed quantity of the end of the dielectric strip 3 is inserted into a waveguide 4 in the direction almost vertical to the electromagnetic wave transmitting direction of the waveguide 4. In this way, made conversion is performed between the LSM01 mode of the dielectric line and the circular TE11 mode of a circular hollow waveguide. Since no radiation structure from the dielectric strip end of the dielectric line in the axial direction is used, unnecessary radiation is not present and line conversion between the dielectric line and the waveguide 4 can be performed with low loss. Since the electromagnetic wave transmitting directions of the dielectric line and the waveguide 4 are in an orthogonal directions, the flexibility on design in circuit constitution improves and size reduction can be executed as a whole.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
