"Particulate titanium dioxide rutile crystal form and process for its production, composition for coating, composite molding of plastic and cosmetic composition.Particles of titanium dioxide having a selective protective effect against infrared radiation and a high capacity for spreading, are disclosed.The particles of titanium dioxide have a primary particle size of 0.5 to 2.0 109 m and a transmission of visible light of less than 95%.The particles of titanium dioxide consists essentially of 0.05 to 0.4% by weight of aluminium oxide, 0.1 to 0.8% by weight of zinc oxide, and the balance being in titanium dioxide.The particles of titanium dioxide are produced by mixing hydrated aluminium oxide with minor amounts of a compound of aluminium,A zinc compound and a compound of potassium, and then ash mixture.
