In the present invention there is provided a novel corrosion inhibiting synergistic admixture for the mitigation of rebar corrosion in concrete structures, which essentially consists of sodium hydroxide + sodium citrate + sodium stannate + calcium oxide. The inhibitive ions such as hydroxide, citrate, stannate and calcium oxide not only effectively decrease the corrosion rate of steel in concrete environments but also increase the compressive strength of concrete using 100% ordinary Portland cement (OPC) and also in flyash blended OPC, even in the presence of 30,000 ppm of chloride.
