The vehicle (2) bodywork assembly (1) is for installation on a chassis with longitudinal beams (3), the bodywork being fitted on the chassis with fixture head bolts. It has at least a basic frame with basic frame longitudinal beams positioned on the vehicle longitudinal beams. The basic frame comprises extruded aluminium profiles and assembly plates are provided for fitting with the aid of the fixture head bolts of the basic frame longitudinal beams on the chassis longitudinal beams. The basic frame longitudinal beams have an extruded aluminium profile, with an under side for location on the chassis longitudinal beam of a vehicle, a parallel upper side and with left and right side surfaces between the upper and lower sides. At least one side channel runs in a longitudinal direction and via an open side slot emerges onto a side surface.
