The bow for shooting arrows (1) has an elastically bendable arch (17) formed by a hand grip (2) and two flexible arches (3) connected to the hand grip on opposite sides by bolts and wing nuts (16). At one outer end of each flexible arch first transmission devices (18) are fixed with a lever (4) rotatably fixed by a fixture shaft (5) to a flexible arch. A draw string (6) for tensioning the bow is partly wound around both levers, to which it is connected by eyelets (15). On the hand grip, two gearwheels (13) are mounted, which engage on the toothed sides of two toothed racks (12). Each of the racks is connected by a pin (10) with a shaft (11) of the first transmission devices (18).
