The mobile fodder installation has an animal identification device for emission of an animal recognition signal, a surface for holding fodder, a storage container with an outflow aperture, a controlled feed device for placing fodder on the holding surface, a transport medium for moving fodder from the outflow aperture to the controlled feed device, and a computer for controlling the controlled device based on the animal recognition signal. At least two side walls of the fodder installation are formed by a tensioned tarpaulin (15) and the storage container is fitted underneath the installation. The outflow aperture is located lower than the food holding surface. A current supply unit is incorporated for at least the control of the transport medium, a solar panel (11) with cells providing the current supply. The storage container has a filling aperture closable by a valve (20), which in the opened state forms a funnel. The flexible tarpaulin incorporated is tensioned by a frame (16).
