The shell has additional elements increasing penetrating power. The conversion device is intended to change a conventional artillery explosive shell into an armor piercing shell destined to function against concrete structures. It includes a firing box (14) fastened to the shell by the rear connection. This includes a safety and arming device for the charge passing through the wall of the base device.
