The invention relates to a cutting combine and to a process for in-front advancing, when extracting coal from longwalls, especially in the areas where there appear frequently unidentified tectonic anomalies and where the layer inclination, on the advancing direction, is higher than 10 . According to the invention, the combine comprises some guide shoes (1, 2, 3 and 4), of welded construction, adapted for supporting the combine and for mounting the frames of a flight conveyer (A), and for avoiding the combine canting, together with the conveyer, there is provided a telescopic support (B), consisting of a hydraulic cylinder (5), fastened at an end on the combine, and at the opposite end, through an articulation (7), there is fastened a shield (8) which rests on the front. According to the invention, the process for in-front removal, when extracting coal from stopes, provides the appliance of a supplementary support, from the working front, which is carried out by leaving a quenched charcoal, at the cutting motion, this being left cut at the cleaning motion, with the descent position of the combine drums, there making possible the stope passage, in regime of descending over fault areas, at angles of 25 ...30 .
