METHOD FOR ANESTHESIOLOGICAL SUPPORT IN SURGERY PERFORMED WITHIN AREA OF LUMBOSACRAL SEGMENT INNERVATION IN CHILDREN

The method for the anesthesiological support in the surgery performed within the area of lumbosacral segment innervation in the children comprises the caudal epidural anesthesia combined with the use of the hypnotic agents while the non-assisted respiration is preserved throughout surgery. The initial narcosis is performed with the aid of Propafol used as 1% emulsion at a dose of 3-4 mg/kg. The caudal epidural anesthesia is employed as the analgesic component of the anesthesia throughout the surgery as well as postoperatively. The narcosis is maintained by the continuous infusion of 1% Propafol emulsion at a sedative dose of 4-5 mg/kg/hour. The gas exchange in the course of the surgery is maintained by self-breathing or artificially with the use of the laryngeal mask.
