METHOD FOR ASSESSING FITNESS OF PERSONS FOR AIRPLANE AND AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL

The method for assessing the fitness of persons for airplane and air traffic control provides for diagnosing the cardiovascular diseases. The round-the-clock monitoring of the arterial blood pressure and ECG is performed together with echocardiography. The stage of the arterial hypertension is assessed tasking into account the extent of the hypertrophy in the left ventricle. The thickness of the posterior wall of the left ventricle and the interventricular septum is measured and the mass index for the myocardium in the left ventricle is calculated. The arterial hypertension stage II, which is regarded as the contraindication to the work connected with airplane and air traffic control is diagnosed by the hypertrophy of the left ventricle (based on ECG and echocardiography data), the generalized constriction of the arteries in the retina, microalbuminuria or proteinuria and/or slight increase in blood plasma creatinine content (up to 177 MU mol/l) in the setting of the elevated arterial blood pressure. The severity of the arterial hypertension is assessed based on the data of the round-the-clock monitoring taking into account the average daily arterial blood pressure, the average daily hemodynamic pressure, and the major monitoring indices (the pulse pressure, the standard deviation, the daily index, the time index, the rate of the morning elevation of the arterial blood pressure). The next contraindications to the work connected with airplane and air traffic control are assessed: sinus tachycardia with average daily heart rate more than 90 beats per minute; sinus bradycardia with average daily heart rate less than 50 beats per minute; the dropped-out complexes and rhythms; the supraventricular tachycardia with 10 and moresuccessive tachycardia QRS complexes; AV dissociations; the migrations of the supraventricular pace maker; the paroxysmal supraventricular extrasystoles (more than 30 episodes within one hour); the isolated ventricular extrasystoles (more than 15 episodes within one hour); AV blockades grade II; two- and three-bundle intraventricular blockades; the combined disturbances in pulse generation and conduction; the persistent syndromes and ECG phenomena of ventricular pre-excitation (WPW, CLC syndromes) the syndromes of the prolonged QT interval; the syndrome of sinoatrial node failure; the arrhythmogenic dysplasia of the left ventricle; Brugad syndrome, Frederick syndrome; the episodes of the silent myocardial ischemia.
