METHOD FOR ASSESSING ENDOGENOUS INTOXICATION IN YOUNG CHILDREN WITH INTESTINAL INFECTION

The method for assessing the endogenous intoxication in young children with the intestinal infection comprises the estimation of the hepatic sizes. The sizes of right, left, and caudate lobes are estimated using ultrasound examination, the echogeneity of the hepatic parenchyma is assessed, and the walls of the portal vein are visualized. The ratio between the sizes of the caudate lobe and the right lobe exceeding 1:3, the middle and large granularity in the echostructure of parenchyma, visualization of the walls of the portal vein down to the branches of the third order, and the increase in the portal vein diameter by more than 15% are regarded as the features suggesting the endogenous intoxication.
